A sight flow gauge is mounted at some midpoint on a pipeline for direct visual checking of the condition of fluid flowing through the line.
It can be used for liquids such as water and oils and for gases such as colorless, transparent air and inert gases because its indicator plate moves in an arc along the flow of fluid.
